Mike Garlick could regain control at Turf Moor
Following on from the disappointing performance of Burnley FC against Watford FC, with a 0–0 score, they may be facing relegation. Bad news for the club, but potentially good news for Burnley FC’s Mike Garlick. Mike Garlick is the director of the club, despite selling his 49% and chairmanships to ALK Capital over a year ago. However, he has the option to buy the club back as the sale price of £150 Million was to be completed in three payments, which may not go ahead if the club is relegated.
If ALK fail to pay any of the subsequent instalments on time, Mike Garlick may be able to regain control. If Sean Dyche’s team fall into the championship, then this might go ahead, although there has not been a statement saying this is an issue or could happen. Right now, it is all speculation. However, the recent match with Watford FC has left Burnley bottom of the league table. This was seen as a must-win match that left Burnley FC fans devastated at the performance of the Clarets.
If Burnley football club cannot score a goal against Watford, what chance will they have on Tuesday the 8th of Feb playing Manchester United or Liverpool FC on Sunday the 13th of Feb. However, we have our fingers crossed for the Clarets!
Less than impressed fans took to social media to complain about the result, which they said showed them up as a small-town team without the budget to face the big guns of the premier league. If the club is seen not to be able to compete in the premier league, it may spell problems with the Lancashire team, who were English champions twice and won the FA cup once, albeit in 1913.
